What is driving like in Palencia?

The roads in Spain are generally in good condition, and most towns are cities are relatively well-connected. Driving on the open road in the countryside is a breeze, although traffic coming in and out of Spain’s major cities can be noticeably bad.

What is the best time of year to visit Palencia?

Springtime brings pleasant temperatures and flowers in bloom. Summer can be hot with temperatures ranging from 25°C to 30°C, while autumn stays warm but with fewer crowds – a great time for walks outside in nature and sampling local cuisine. Winter is cold, but if you don’t mind that, it’s the perfect time to take advantage of fewer crowds and indoor attractions and museums.

Do I need winter tyres to drive in Palencia?

No, there is no legal requirement for passenger cars in Palencia to be equipped with winter tyres. However, many of the cars in our Spanish rental hubs will have winter tyres available as an option.
