From Menorca Mahon Airport, you’re just a 10-minute drive (via the Me-12) from Mahon – the ideal starting point for your Menorca road trip.

Mahon is the island’s capital, offering excellent shopping and much entertainment. The old town presents a delightful mix of old and new, with narrow streets, shady squares and a selection of pavement cafes – perfect for watching the world go by.

If you’re looking for culture and history, Mahon has plenty to offer. Menorca Museum, settled in an old 17th century convent, exhibits a large collection of artefacts from the pre-Talayotic, Talayotic, Roman and Byzantine periods. Child safety / Seatbelt laws

• It is compulsory for the driver and all passengers to wear a seatbelt

Es Castell
Drive for around 15 minutes from Menorca Mahon Airport, via the Me-12, and you’ll arrive in the pretty seaside town of Es Castell. Two harbours present a collection of bars, restaurants and souvenir shops, plus a fantastic sandy beach. If you fancy escaping the sun for an hour, the Menorca Military Museum in the old town hall is worth a look.

El Toro
To catch the best views of the island, head to El Toro – the highest point on Menorca, just a 40-minute drive from Menorca Mahon Airport via the Me-1. Aside from the spectacular panorama, there’s also an Augustinian monastery and church to explore.

S’Albufera des Grau Natural Park
Around a 50-minute drive from Mahon is S’Albufera des Grau Natural Park. Here you can spot a number of rare birds, including cormorants, herons, ospreys and red kites. The impressive nature reserve also boasts a variety of plants, such as orchids, gladioli and honeysuckle. It’s definitely worth adding to your sightseeing itinerary and promises a relaxing and educational day out for all the family.

How do I collect my hire car at Menorca Airport?

When you land at Menorca Airport, head from the arrivals hall to our desk. One of our members of staff will process your booking, and then you may proceed to collect your vehicle at the Car Rental Centre.

Can I return a rental car to the airport?

If you've rented a car from Menorca centre or a different Avis hub, but wish to return it at Menorca Mahon Airport, then you must arrange your return prior to the commencement of your rental agreement. If you return your car to the airport without specifying in your rental contract, a fee will apply.

Do I need winter tyres to drive in Spain?

No, there is no legal requirement for passenger cars in mainland Spain or its islands to be equipped with winter tyres or chains. Most of our cars in Spain will have winter tyres available as an option.
