The Moorish Castle, or what remains of it, is one of Gibraltar’s most famous landmarks. As is Nelson’s Anchorage, where legend says Nelson’s body was brought ashore.

Beaches

From Gibraltar North Front Airport, you’re only a 10-15 minute drive from the island’s main tourist beaches. The largest – Eastern beach - has a wide range of facilities and can be reached via Winston Churchill Avenue and Devil’s Tower Road. Catalan Bay, tucked away on the eastern side of the Rock, has a beach and small fishing village with a selection of excellent seafood restaurants. Camp and Little Bay are also popular beach resorts with plenty of facilities, especially for children.

The Alameda Gardens Wildlife Park

Just a 10-minute drive from Gibraltar North Front Airport (via Line Wall Road) is the Alameda Gardens Wildlife Park. For a break from the hustle and bustle, spend an afternoon here surrounded by the rare plant and tree species in these attractive botanical gardens. As well as a variety of flora and fauna from around the world, the gardens have an open-air theatre and the area known as the ‘Dell’ is a popular spot for wedding ceremonies.

The Gibraltar Museum

The Gibraltar Museum is an absolute must on your tour around Gibraltar. Opened in 1930, there are a number of galleries to explore that delve into the history and origins of the island. A notable feature of the exhibits is a reconstructed Roman anchor, which forms part of one of the largest anchor collections in the world. The museum is just 10 minutes from the airport via Winston Churchill Avenue and Line Wall Road.
