Just over an hour north-east of Bergerac is the quiet town of Brantôme. The main attraction here is the spectacular Abbaye de Brantôme, an 8th century Benedictine monastery cut into a limestone cliff. This town plays host to many quaint cafes, and a tea room by the name of Co’thé Café is particularly popular. Freshly roasted coffee, pots of tea, and homemade cakes and tarts are order of the day here.
