A day trip to Nicosia, the buzzing capital city of Cyprus, should be on everyone’s itinerary. This lively city is just over an hour’s drive from Ayia Napa City. Protaras

The resort of Protaras is just a 15-minute drive from Ayia Napa and is a top family destination. With a distinctly more laidback setting, Protaras has a number of superb waterfronts perfect for a tranquil day at the beach. The main beach has golden sand and rocky coves, but be sure to visit Fig Tree Bay too. With a small island just off its coast, it’s a great place for snorkelling. Attractions like the Magic Dancing Water and the Ocean Aquarium will keep children wholly entertained.
